You may have heard (and seen) me raving more than once about the amazingly brilliant and funny improv troupe, The Improvised Generation. Many others have, too!
And now, wherever you are on the globe, you can watch them LIVE online on their studio Facebook this Saturday at 7 pm Pacific (10 pm Eastern) for a full (and all-new, of course) episode adventure! (In fact, that link is the home of a 30-HOUR GENRE IMPROV MARATHON…)
The occasion? “TIG”, along with all its fellow improv studio groups, is part of the annual fundraiser for their home base, Impro Theatre— in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles.
“Pledge Drive Unscripted” (“PDU”) is the annual event (video here!) supported by all the Impro Theatre community of student and mainstage “genre troupes.” “PDU” ‘s 2018 goal is $25,000… as of Friday, 57% has been raised (see update below) … all through a “crowdpledging” campaign here, with perk levels …. a silent auction …and that 30-HOUR IMPROV MARATHON today and Saturday by all the Impro genre groups (here’s the schedule!) … including the TIG show Saturday night. Aside from operations and new project goals you can check out at the PDU link, the fund drive supports the Ellen Idelson Diversity Scholarship.
And, as a 501(c) nonprofit with the IRS.. .all donations are tax-deductible for Americans. The livestream show on Facebook is free, with Impro Theatre asking only a “Pay What You Can” pledge in support to view it.
At the same time, you can bid on the silent auction goodies — Trek and beyond— until midnight Pacific time this Sunday, July 8— and items will be spotlighted during the livestream.
I donated two things right out of the Trekland Trunk. It’s a good cause!
Here’s more details, and the auction link. Please share the TIG Facebook page, too! The Main Company is doing a Jane Austen impro tonight.
You’ll be as big a fan as *I* AM. And now, you don’t even have to be there in the house, or wait for the YouTube video later.
