Join me & 60 Trek family for Trek*Talks webathon to aid Hollywood Food Coalition

Surely you’ve seen all the buzz about this special event for a good cause — available globally! — but just in case:

A quick charity shoutout for THIS Saturday,  Jan. 15  for  Trek*Talks — an EIGHT-hour “webathon” to benefit the Hollywood Food Coalition :

SIXTEEN  half-hour panels of various Star Trek actors and creatives!
Jeri Ryan and Jonathan Frakes are among the headliners, but there are literally over 60 great folks taking part through the day — produced by TrekGeeks podcast network and Roddenberry Podcasts. It’s truly just a fun fan benefit for eight hours, with a virtual “toteboard.”
My friends Dan and Bill from Trek Geeks and of course John Champion from Roddenberry are not only repping the producers but “anchoring” the day along with John Billingsley, who made HoFoCo his passion project a few years back.

So… right after our regular Life Support LIVE  at 10 AM PST/ 1 pm EST … click over and start the show at 12 noon PT/ 3 pm ET.

I’ll be moderating the “1:24 pm” panel re: the Center Seat series  with producer  Brian Volk-Weiss (he pivoted from music and comedy specials/productions to include geekdom with hits like “The Toys That Made Us”)… plus narrator (and our own Beverly Crusher) Gates McFadden, and professors and fellow Star Trek experts/authors /professors John and Mary Jo Tenuto, who also guest on SC.

HoFoCo began in 1987, with the simple mission to serve a meal every night of the year, with absolutely no barriers to service. For 34 years, without ever missing a night, their Community Dinner has done exactly that. They emphasize nutritionally-complete, restaurant-like meals. They also round up extra food from Hollywood set caterers for daily serving, and also partner with other food pantries and kitchens too.
