Portal 47 sets guest David Goodman for 10th anniversary Open House Nov. 13

Can it be TEN YEARS already?

Join us on Thursday, Nov. 13 with guest writer-producer-author  DAVID GOODMAN for a special Portal 47 Open House to mark the end of our tenth year…virtual, of course:  we’ve been at it since 2015!  And the Open House is the event, among all other live and guest nights, when we invite the public to “sample our wares” with one of Trek’s major luminaries —  but in a revealing, informal  conversation the Trekland/Portal 47 way.

Oh and yes, what’s an open house with door prizes? Real books and Blu-ray sets?

Get your free virtual ticket and doorprize entry HERE.

Now… who else to mark this decade of savvy fandom than David

— a Trek veteran of Enterprise, yes, but so symbolic of the “backstage Trek all over” approach Portal 47 was built to deep-dive for.  David’s had a hand in everything from modern animation (Family Guy!) and all its Trek parody moments, plus his original classic Futurama Trek… to The Orville, and its odyssey of bridging OG linear network TV with streaming … to writing non-fiction Trek, (Federation: 150 Years and Kirk and Picard “autobiography” books).

Not to mention, most of all, his insight of the whole industry today after serving as Writers Guide of America-West president during an agents’ reform movement , and then chairing the WGA negotiations committee during the big 2023 WGA strike, later joined by the SAG actors. So how does the landscape look today — for the biz, and future Trek at all?

David will join us at 7 pm PT/ 10 pm ET, but we’ll start at 6 pm PT/ 9 pm ET  — for another sample of Portal features: A special  “Ask Dr. Trek” Roundtable session for you, too: a virtual open mic to ask me anything and talk about Trek topics new or old.

Then, after one hour, welcome our guest David and ask (via pre-submit or chat room) about his Trek work and career!  (I will too, of course.)
