UPDATE!
Now with SDCC app links… NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT coming… CBS #DSC events update … a new Facebook fan page for Trekkers bound for SDCC … AND BONUS club meetup for new Portal 47 signees!
Hey! Here’s my San Diego Comic-Con plans!
Can it be a year since the biggest Trek footprint at SDCC in history? Wow.
Well, CBS has just set off a bombshells of fun SDCC news about insanely fun immersive Discovery exhibits and events this weekend.
Meanwhile, there’s fan and pro Trek already in place— including my own line-up. I won’t claim a short-term table this year, but here’s our panels and events:
FIRST: Just know that for Portal 47 (check it out here) , sign up this con weekend — online, or live with me right after any of my venues below — and get a FREE DRINK and BONUS “LIVE DIVE” 9:30 pm Friday night, right after the panel— site TBA at an easy SDCC-adjacent watering hole, based on what’s easiest. And maybe even more…
THEN I have two panel slots this year: Catch me after either:
——“Star Trek Podcasts of SoCal: Blazing the Not-So-Final Frontier,” Thursday, 3-4 pm, Neil Morgan Auditorium, San Diego Central Public Library (see the panel list just above) , as moderator with some of my fave Trek-media peeps: John Champion, Lisa “Risa” Guertzkow, Aaron Harvey and Kayla Iacovino! (of Roddenberry Mission Log, Trek Radio online, trek.fm’s Saturday Morning Trek, and trekmovie.com’s Shuttlepod).
Plus, I’ll have be a NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT made concerning myself and one of the other panelists!
——“Larry Nemecek’s Trekland 2017: TNG at 30—and Discovery at T-minus,” Friday, 7/21/17, 8-9 pm, Room 29AB (The new-47ers Bonus Live Dive will be right afterward).
But I’ll also be around for buddy Dan Madsen’s support of Ashley’s Her Universe geek fashion show Thursday night, for The Improv Generation’s TNG show in Old Town later that night, and crowding Ballroom 20 and the press events for the Discovery splash at 2:30 Saturday and afterward. And I know I’ll be in teh captain’s chair at some point… maybe even Facebook Live-ing it.
And maybe more.
So much in the wind, I’m just being foot-looser and fancier-free at SDCC this year. If we cross paths, planned or unplanned, make sure to give a holler.
And maybe this will help: finally, SDCC Away Team, a Facebook page for Trekfans headed to SDCC—or even just curious. It’s closed, so you have to ask to join—but try it out. Maybe we’ll talk there, too.
